The Day We Were Supposed to Be in Florence :(

Guess where I am……………no, not Florence……

Hint: Look at the magazine covers. Yes, I’m in Paris!

For eight long hours. In the Charles DeGaulle Airport, waiting for a flight to Florence. This isn’t what I envisioned when I dreamed of seeing Paris someday.

Our flight was delayed last night out of Pittsburgh, causing us to miss our connection this morning in Paris. All of the afternoon flights to Italy were full, so we are currently spending eight hours in jet-lagged limbo waiting to board an evening flight.

We’re making the best of it…

My traveling buddies, Saundra and Candy

but eight hours is a long time to hang out, so I walked around and took some pictures to share with you. Now you, too, can feel the excitement of being in Paris!

The Paris airport, that is…

The architecture is kind of cool…

and the ladies’ rooms are the prettiest I’ve ever seen…

Look at the sleek, modern sinks!
Here’s a sign I’ve never seen before…

Here’s where I had my first cappuccino of the trip…

and I couldn’t get over how cute this little macaron shop was…

Here’s what was in the display case…

Oh my gosh, how beautiful are they?

I bought just one…

It was wonderful! My first macaron ever.

There are lots of shops, but all the books and magazines are in French….

and an Hermes scarf just isn’t in my budget…

There are French teddy bears…

and French chocolates…

and more macarons…

and lots more chocolates…

Now if only we had one of these…

to take us to FLORENCE!

I know yesterday I promised that my next post would be from Florence, but I really mean it this time! Until then…

My reflection in the Hermes display window

goodbye from Paris. 🙂

  • Nothing worse than a flight delay. You certainly made the most of your time in ' Charles de Gaulle' airport. plenty to see, but not my favourite airport, too much hustle & bustle. for me. Hope all goes well for your next scheduled flight to Florence. Bon Voyage.

  • Great pictures! And you should have the great willpower if you've bought only one macaron)
